GRAFFITI ART: (To be announced)
Instructor: Ben (Dayst) Thomas
In many people’s minds, ‘graffiti’ tends to instantly translate into ‘vandalism’ or ‘defamation’. Graffiti is intertwined with Hip-Hop as one of the 4 main elements of the culture, and can be viewed only as a misunderstood art form that dates back to ancient times. A medium of self-expression, graffiti is always provocative. Graffiti today, is before all else, a culture. At Elementz, we have one of the best artists in the city to teach the basics of letter design, wild style, characters, backgrounds, color schemes and originality.

LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE:
Elementz Leadership Development Committee (The LEAD) is composed of highly engaged youth who are interested in developing leadership skills and representing Elementz. Members of the LEAD attend weekly meetings which focus on topics such as self preservation, ethics in art, diversity, justice for humanity, and the future of Elementz. Members of the LEAD have been given opportunities such as field trips to local and national conferences, canvassing for presidential elections, creating music albums and documentary’s which express many of the subjects that are discussed in meetings. Members also help plan and execute Elementz monthly showcases the last Thursday of each month. Each experience reinforces leadership, community building and subjects which are discussed during meetings. The LEAD ultimately represents Elementz at internal and external events in the form of presentation, performance, and/or promotion.
